What’s an Anam Cara?
In ancient Celtic times, an Anam Cara was a guide, a ‘soul friend’ who brought ease to those who were transitioning out of this world.
For 12 years, I worked as a hospice counselor, and helped more than a thousand people on their final journey. During these visits, I witnessed phenomenal things: Angelic visitations, extended one-way conversations with loved ones who had previously passed on, stunning
glimpses beyond the veil.
Today, I offer counseling for those who want to find peace as they consider their path to what
"There is no death,
only a change in worlds."
Working through the emotions of our mortality is different for everyone. It’s a gentle process of confronting fear and learning to surrender what no longer serves you.
Throughout my years as a hospice counselor, I’ve witnessed many people meet their fears and transform them into something resembling transcendence. As Irish writer John
O’Donohue puts it, it’s like “a meeting with a lifelong friend from the deepest side of your own nature.”
Coming to terms with our finite time here doesn’t have to be a depressing experience. It can be a catalyst for finding more joy and clarity about how we want to spend our short time on this planet.
Let me help you on your journey.
If you or a loved one is experiencing unease about the end of life, allow me to take your hand.
Together, we’ll develop a personalized plan to soften the fear, explore spiritual beliefs, deepen the connections with the people you love most, and embrace the time we have on this planet whole-heartedly.
I offer one-on-one sessions via phone or Skype, or in-person if you’re located near the Puget Sound area.
